Summertime has come at last in Ebonvale. Birds singing their songs of triumph, sunlight seeping through spring's thick shroud, silken roses at their richest. But discontment lies deep at the heart of the valley. The great alpha of the Ebonwood pack has passed away, leaving his two sons to fight over the throne. Though quiet, reserved Merathen should theoretically be ruler, many believe his younger brother Tarin and his mate Belle to be the better leaders. The pack is divided between the two. And though they manage to keep from fighting, who knows how long it will be before one side snaps? With old rivalries renewed and friendships begin to wane, will there ever be any peace for the wolves of Ebonvale?
