I wonder what I'll find here...

Oh, how many times had she thought that. Different times, different places, but always the same curious femme with the same curious mind. She couldn't wait to explore the place, but knew she was in unfamiliar territory that probably belonged to someone else.

Her pawfalls were steady, the young wolf in no hurry to run into something hostile. Above her, the great sky loomed, her only comfort the shimmer of those celestial things humans called stars. The moon could be no comfort to her. Because of that, the starlight flickered in the wrong direction, throwing her off-course. She had nearly died because of it. No matter, that was behind her now, and Sharri and Karil could not be far behind. They travelled with her, the brother and sister did. Always making sure she was okay after that day when they had saved her. But they weren't here now. She would have to rely on her own strength tonight.
